Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program, is dedicated to healing the invisible wounds for Veterans of all eras, Service Members, Military Families and Families of the Fallen through world-class clinical care, wellness, education and research. As a National Center of Excellence, Home Base operates the first and largest private-sector clinic in the nation devoted to providing life-saving clinical care and support for the treatment of the invisible wounds to include post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, co-occurring substance use disorder, family relationship challenges and other issues associated with military service.

Programs & Services

– National Two Week Clinical Program (designed to treat Veterans and Families who are struggling with the Invisible Wounds of War, including Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma, Depression, and Anxiety. Based in Boston, but serving Veterans and their support members from across the country, the Intensive Clinical Programs offer a holistic and innovative approach to clinical care)
– New England Outpatient Clinic (delivers a broad range of patient- and family-centered assessments and clinical offerings, encompassing traditional medicine, advanced diagnostic techniques, and integrative medicine; treatment team includes trauma psychologists, social workers, traumatic brain injury specialists, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, and child psychologists; provides confidential, compassionate, and individualized assessment and treatment for individuals, couples, children, and families)
– National Clinic for Special Operators (Comprehensive Brain Health and Trauma (ComBHaT) Program provides coordinated, integrated, multi-disciplinary specialist evaluation, treatment, and care coordination for active-duty Special Operations Service Members and Veterans across all services)
– Home Base Southwest Florida (free Warrior Health and Fitness program designed to help Southwest Florida Veterans—men and women—improve their physical health and well-being through supervised physical exercise, education about healthy eating, living, sleep hygiene, stress management and the health benefits of physical activity)

Funding/Cost

Accepts TriCare and other private and public insurance including MassHealth. By law they are required to bill health insurance, but if a Veteran or Family Member has no insurance or a gap in insurance coverage, they will not receive a bill for services provided in the Home Base Outpatient Clinic or Intensive Clinical Program.

ICP: Transportation, lodging and meals are covered for a participating Veteran and an accompanying support person.

ComBHaT: All care is provided at no cost to the service member, veteran, or family member including travel, lodging and meals
